Bhubaneswar, July 4: Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania was presented with the Special Letter of Commendation awarded by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in recognition of the Odisha Police's outstanding achievements in combating Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) and significantly strengthening the state's internal security framework.

The prestigious commendation acknowledges the exemplary efforts of the Odisha Police in curbing extremist activities through effective intelligence gathering, coordinated security operations, and sustained community engagement. 

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi formally handed over the Special Letter of Commendation to DGP Khurania during a ceremony held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

The recognition from the Union Home Minister underscores the Centre's appreciation of Odisha Police's consistent efforts in enhancing internal security, promoting peace, and contributing to the broader national objective of eradicating Left-Wing Extremism from affected regions.

Senior government officials and police officers were present on the occasion as the state celebrated yet another milestone in its ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for its citizens.
