Devotees, servitors demand Ratha Yatra at their places

Bhubaneswar, June 19: Devotees and servitors across the state have expressed discontent over the decision of no Rath Yatra elsewhere but Puri this year. Citizens of Baripada demanded to organize Rath Yatra at the second Shrikshetra while the people of Nilagiri are keen enough to see the trinity in the chariot at Nilagiri. Similarly, public of Kendrapada are in favour of Rath Yatra at the shrine of BaladevJew. Dissatisfied over the government’s decision, an innovative way of demonstration in favour of Rath Yatra was seen at Baripada. Devotees and servitors took up a rally across the town blowing conch, holding placard and hitting ghantas. They urged to withdraw the decision of the government and allow them to go for Ratha Yatra. At the same time, locals of Nilagiri opposed it candling lights before their Jagannath temple. Subsequently, they submitted a memorandum with the district Collector, Balasore in favour of the government. Apart from it, saints and monks in Kendrapara raised the same demand to reconsider the decision so that the Ratha Yatra will be held at the shrine.
