The shine of Pan-India star seems much brighter because the show by such stars rake moolah in the box office collections from all centres – north or south. The trail blazer of the Pan-India star was lighted up by Prabhas with Bahubali-2, and then came Yash with KGF.
Prabhas has been the original Pan India star for the fact of minting biggest opening at the pan India box office. Here is the list.

KING KHAN Vs PRABHAS
Notwithstanding, King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathan minting big in Hindi, the show of Badshaah Khan on the opening day pan –India seems pallid when compared with Prabhas. Here’s the collection of SRK on Day 1.
- Jawan – Rs 72.5 cr (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam)
- Pathan – Rs 57 cr (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi)
YASH POWER
Kannada superstar Yash widely popular movie KGF 2 minted a whopping 108 cr on day 1 in the versions of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil,Malayalam and Kannada. Though the crazy for Yash has been unbelievable, the crowning him with Pan India star needs confirmation, if he deliver another blockbuster other than the KGF series. Undeniably, Yash has the shine and power of bright star. But BO is the actual crowner.
WHY PAN INDIA STAR CROWN ON Jr NTR?
Junior NTR stormed into the pan – India race with his Oscar winning RRR. The triple R wonder of Rajamouili minted Rs 110 cr on day 1 across India (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam).
After the wonder show, the silver screens missed any such pan-India delivery from the Telugu superstar. On Friday, Devara- Part 1hit the silver screen. The movie saw Jr NTR in action with his lady love veteran superstar actress Sridevi’s lass Jhanavi. Sensing the silver lining, famed showman and producer Karan Johar has bought the film’s Hindi version rights.
The Jr NTR action flick has thrilling start at the box office pan India. The mass star image of Jr NTr is driving the film in mass centres across the nation.
The film on its opening day grossed a net collection of 82 cr in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
With this more the premium collections, Devar-1became the 6th top opening day pan India film in Indian cinema.
After Prabhas, Jr NTR became the second actor who scored big at the box office across India. The NTR scion has dug into the pan-India star mould with two mega openers – RRR and Devara -1. And like Prabhas, Jr NTR, too, had delivered wonder opener with two different movies, not of same movie series.
This flashes on the quantum of star power of Jr NTR across the nation.
WHY SHAH RUKH IS HINDI SUPERSTAR?
This is why Shah Rukh Khan is called Bollywood King or say Hindi superstar. When it comes to box office collection in bollywood (hindi movies), SRK bestrides on the lion with Rs 65.5 cr on the opening day. A glance at the comparison.

The above comparative BO collection on Day -1 zooms out the star power of the actors on Hindi screens. The above list of top-5 is dominated by bollywood stars. SRK sheer dominance is visible. The standout star in the top-5 is Kannada superstar yash. Yash magic only a notch below SRK. But SRK dominated with two films. And, Yash with only one. The Kannada superstar need to set afire the B-Town with more such thrillers.

Koratala Siva’s directorial has made a smashing debut among the top 10 openers at the Hindi box office. It landed on the 8th spot in 2024. Take a look at the list below:

The 2024 top grosser on day 1 shows Devara (Hindi) trailing behind Vicky Kaushal by less than 1 crore.
- Film’s premiere at LA’s iconic Egyptian Theatre sold out in just nine minutes, with Western audiences making 90 percent of ticket rush.
- USA alone contributed a jaw-dropping $2.5 million to the pre-sales tsunami, while Australia and the UK have also been swept up, contributing over AU$300,000 and 24,000 tickets sold, respectively.
