Dengue scare in Bhubaneswar amidst Covid-19 pandemic

Bhubaneswar, July 9: Amid the current Covid-19 situation in the state, cases of Dengue have emerged as fresh concerns for the administration in the capital city Bhubaneswar. A total of 31 samples were tested in two days. Of which, 16 tested positive for dengue in Niladri Vihar and Sailashree Vihar localities. The detection of fresh Dengue cases in the situation in these areas is said to be alarming. While the city is working on a mission mode for testing since Wednesday at Niladri Vihar Primary Health Centre (PHC), the civic authorities with the help of RMRC are also giving equal emphasis to monitor the suspected cases of Dengue. Earlier, various victims were reported from Sector 3. Even many new cases were reported from Sector-1 on Thursday. The BMC and the Health department are focusing on raising awareness to control the disease as the infectious disease could pose a challenge for the residents.
