Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: In an unprecedented situation, dengue patients lie on the floor in the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Apart from it, the dearth of platelet, which is essential for dengue patients, has created problems for the patients. Sources said that dengue cases in the twin cities are on the rise. At least 45 dengue patients have been admitted to the Capital Hospital whereas the shortage of dedicated wards and even a bed has created immense problem in treating dengue patients. It’s why most of the dengue-affected patients are lying on the floor, waiting for medical intervention. At the same time, the want of platelets component in the blood has created problems in the treatment of serious patients. Some attendants of the patients alleged that dengue patients are not taken care of properly due to the shortfall of beds and blood units with platelets. Responding to the media queries, Director, Capital Hospital, Dr. LD Sahu said that the number of dengue patients is going up day by day while the beds are falling short.
