Bhubaneswar: Odisha continues to shine on the global para sports stage as its athletes brought home gold medals from the Peru Para Badminton International Level 2 Tournament 2026, held from 4-9 August 2026, in Lima, Peru.

Odisha’s Deep Ranjan Bisoyee partnering with Biri Takar (India) won the gold medal in the Men’s Doubles SL3-SU5 displaying excellent game quality and dominatingly defeating the opponents. The Indian pair showed a dominating game and convincing win in the tournament.

They advanced to the finals after a strong win over their teammate Vihender (India) and Yogesh (India) 21-12 and 21-18. They defeated the Mexican pair of Maximiliano Avila Sosa (Mexico) and Angel Gabriel Gomez Vazquez (Mexico) in the finals to win the titles.

The medal winner Deep Ranjan Bisoyee expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Odisha, Department of Sports and Youth Services, his parent Finance Department, and the Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO) for the constant encouragement and institutional support that made their international success possible.
