Death of vet gang rape accused in police encounter evokes mixed reaction; police justifies the action

Hyderabad, 6/12: The death of four accused in the gang rape and murder of the lady veterinary doctor has evoked mixed reactions from across the country. On the other hand, police has clarified that the police action was taken after the four accused attempted to escape. Former union minister Maneka Gandhi has condemned the police action saying that it was undesirable, while noted film personality Anupam Kher lauded the police action. On the other hand, women in Hyderabad came out in support of the police. They tied rakhi on the hands of the policemen. Police clarified that the four accused were trying to escape. The policemen then opened fire to stop the accused from fleeing the spot. According to reports, police had taken four accused in the gang rape and murder of the lady veterinary doctor at Sajnagar to National Highway No 44 fly over yesterday for recreation of the crime scene . At that time, the four accused attempted to escape. Police then opened fire to stop them from escaping. The four accused persons died on the spot.
