Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: In order to inculcate the feelings of love, compassion, empathy and fellow feelings among the small children, the teachers of the morning session of the DAV Public School, Pokhariput on the eve of the Joy of Giving Week, distributed various collected items among the inmates of the Old Age Home and Orphanage of Missionaries of Charities, Bhubaneswar, in Satyanagar. The teachers, led by Supervisor Sanghamitra Satapathy collected a truck-load of various gifts donated by students involving dry foods, daily usable things, new clothes and other items to spread smiles on their faces of the inmates. The Principal DAV Public School Pokhariput, Dr Sujata guided the teachers in their work during the entire process. The students of morning session of DAV Public School Pokhariput organise the donations each year and the collected items are painstakingly sorted and packed by teachers as they volunteer to do this with a hope to spread the message of love and universal brotherhood and popularise the famous line from Maha Upanishad ``Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’’ (The world is one family) among the inmates of the old age home. Sisters of Missionaries of Charities also cooperated and helped in the distribution of the gifts from the tiny-tots.
