Bhubaneswar: Sitting BJD MLA from Daspalla Purnachandra Nayak today resigned from the party after being denied ticket by the party. Nayak was replaced by Ramesh Behera.
He has sent his resignation letter to party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. He stated in his resignation letter that BJD has now become a home to corrupt people more than those fighting corruption.
The open challenge against ticket distribution was not limited to Pratyusha. Meanwhile, sitting MP Kandhamal MP Pratyusha Rajeswari too resigned from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal after being denied ticket by the party.
The quitting of senior leaders and sitting MLA and MPs may affect performance of the ruling party in the ensuing polls if the leadership fails to address the issue seriously.
