Ganjam, Dec 3: Amid the scare of cyclone Jawad, a large number of fishermen have anchored their fishing vessels at the harbour and returned to the coast in Ganjam district. The Ganjam district administration has asked all the departments to be vigilant regarding the cyclonic storm. Many fishermen returned to the shore while several more boats are in the sea, said a fisherman. Worth mentioning, the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development (FARD) department had prohibited fishing within the territorial waters along the entire coastline of Odisha from Friday to Sunday in view of cyclonic storm Jawad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also predicted that the wind speed can range up to 80 to 90 kilometres per hour following which fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea.
