Acting on the complaint, the Commissionerate Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to the complainant, she was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack earlier this week after experiencing health issues. However, following the treatment, her condition reportedly worsened. Concerned by the deterioration of her health, she underwent a separate medical check-up, during which she allegedly discovered that a portion of her rectum had been cut during the initial treatment.
In response to the complaint, police have seized the patient’s admission and medical documents from the hospital. Commissionerate Police have also sought the formation of a special medical team to examine the case. A formal request has been sent to the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Cuttack to constitute a panel for a thorough investigation into the medical procedures followed.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Girija Shankar Chakraborty informed that once the report from the medical team is submitted, the police will analyse the findings and take appropriate legal action based on the outcome.
