Cuttack violence: CM Majhi appeals for peace and harmony

Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: In light of the communal tensions reported in Cuttack city, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep concern and appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and harmony in the city.

In a statement issued today, the Chief Minister emphasized Cuttack’s identity as a millennium-old city known for its enduring spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony.

He stated, “Cuttack is not just a city; it is a symbol of unity that has stood tall for over a thousand years. We must not let the actions of a few disrupt the peace and pride of this historic city.”

The Chief Minister acknowledged that in recent days, disturbances caused by certain anti-social elements have affected public life and created unrest in some areas.

He assured the public that the government is closely monitoring the situation and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty of inciting violence or disorder.

Reaffirming his call for unity, Majhi urged citizens from all communities to come together and continue the legacy of peace and cooperation that defines Cuttack.

The state government has also instructed local authorities and law enforcement to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to prevent any further escalation.
