Cuttack, Jan 29: Panic gripped among the people in Odisha’s Cuttack district after locals spotted crocodiles in Mahanadi River on Friday.
The crocodiles were first spotted under Madhusudhan Setu on outskirts of the city, locals claimed.
A large number of commuters halted on the Mahanadi bridge here to catch a glimpse of the croc which was lying idle on the river bed.
Four crocodiles have been fitted with GPS. One of them is moving near Naraj while the other close to Banki.
It also urged the people not to kill the crocodiles but to hand over them to the concerned forest officials if the reptiles were caught in the fishing net.
