Cuttack, Jan 6: Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik on Thursday will inaugurate three water treatment plants under ‘Sujal- Drink from Tap Mission’ initiative through video conferencing in Cuttack.
The initiative aims to provide 24×7 quality drinking water which would be suitable for consumption from the tap.
The three water treatment plants with capacities of 129 million, 8 million, and 6 million are constructed at an area under the jurisdiction of Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), Pratap Nagari, and Jagatpur respectively.
In a special program organized by the district administration in the Bali Jatra field, Pattnaik will inaugurate the water treatment plants and also launch ‘Sujal- Drink from Tap Mission’.
Under this initiative, quality drinking water will be provided to 96,328 houses round the clock by 2023.
Instead of supplying groundwater, now the water of the Mahanadi River will be treated and supplied to the people for consumption.
