CPI takes out rally demanding welfare for poor in Balangir

Balangir, Nov 30: With several demands for the poor, the members of the Communist Party of India(CPI) conducted a rally at Kantabanji of Balangir district on Tuesday. Led by former district Assistant Secretary, Gopal Bhoi, hundreds of CPI workers took out a rally from the Kantanbanji market and concluded at the Tehsil office. Subsequently, they submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar in favour of the Chief Minister. The memorandum contains 13-point demands including the provision of ration cards to the poor, sanctioning Rs 3 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Abhas Yojana, protection against atrocities on Dalits and others, said a CPI office bearer.
