Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The massive vaccination drive against the Covid-19 virus will conclude in Odisha today. As per Dr. Bijay Panigrahi, Nodal Officer of Covid-19 vaccination, only 10 doses or one vial of Covaxin are in stock here which will be administered only in Rayagada district. From today onwards, the vaccination drive will not be carried out. Moreover, both the Covishield and Corbevax, are out of stock, as the Centre has stopped supplying Covid-19 vaccines to any state since October 12. So far 8,14,54,064 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Odisha. Of them, 3,52,64,700 (97%) have administered with the first dose and 3,30,07,668 (91%) have taken the second dose. Similarly, only 1,31,81,696 (40%) beneficiaries have received the precaution dose. Notably, the vaccination program was launched in Odisha on January 16, 2021. The healthcare workers and frontline Covid warriors were administered the Covid-19 vaccines in the first phase and normal people availed the vaccines in the subsequent phases.
