Covid-19 infected doctor dies due to lack of treatment in Balangir

Balangir, April 18: An Ayurvedic doctor died of Covid-19 due to lack of treatment in Balangir district on Saturday. The Ayrvedic practitioner has been identified as Dr Dillip Sarangi a native of Sagarpada village near Balangir town. He was serving at Raximunda Health Centre under Loisingha block in the district. Sources said Dr Dillip Sarangi tested positive for Covid-19 five days ago. Before two months, he had taken Covid-19 vaccine. He was in home isolation. However, he felt serious complicacies after four days of his isolation. For which he was admitted to a private hospital in Bargarh. However, there was no Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Ventilator in the hospital. As a result, health condition of Dr Sarangi worsened. Concerned family members decided to shift him to SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. However, he succumbed at Boudh, on the way to BBSR inside the ambulance. Notably, Dr Sarangi was a differently able person who was endeared by the locals for his selfless service.
