Corporal punishment to student: Parents lodge complaint against tutor

Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: Parents of a student have lodged a complaint against a tutor in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, as he beat up the boy black and blue. The incident took place at the Dumduma area in Bhubaneswar city in the afternoon. The accused has been identified as SK Kassim who is a private tutor. Sources said, Kassim was teaching a Class-VIII student of Jadupur village, named SK Rehan in a private tutorial, located at Dumduma. Meanwhile, he beat up Rehan mercilessly. As a result, he sustained critical stains on his body. Being informed, Rehan’s parents lodged a complaint with the Khandagir police in this connection. The complaint read, Rehan has been beaten black and blue as he had not completed his homework. However, the action of the police is yet to be known.
