Corona claims lives of 10 youths in Gunupur in a month

Gunupur, May 29: The second wave of Corona has claimed lives of 10 youths in Gunupur town under Rayagada district within a month. Out of around 30 Corona death from the town, as many as ten youngsters between 25-45 age group have lost their lives immaturely. During the last 24 hours three youngsters died due to Corona infection. They were all within the age of 32-44 years. Mukhi Sweta (27) who was undergoing Corona treatment before her delivery succumbed to the virus in Jeypore hospital. Before it, Gunupur town had witnessed the tragic death of seven youngsters. Corona claimed the first youth's life on April 23. Bapu Sahu (45), an electronics dealer of the Gunupur market died of the disease. Thereafter, B Ramesh (40) and tablist JV Raja (40) succumbed to the virus. Subsequently, three more youths succumbed to the virus on May first. Engineer Santosh Kar and K Raja Rao passed away during treatment. Similarly, teacher Sasmita Chowdhury and engineer Tangudu Balaraju succumbed to the disease at their tender age. Being concerned over the premature death of the youngsters, the denizens demand to gear up Corona vaccination among the people of 18-45 age groups. On the other hand, mass vaccination will continue after receiving fresh vaccines from the health department, said the Chief District Medical Officer(CDMO), Rayagada Doctor Artabandhu Nayak.
