Cops on toes for Modi’s Dec 24 visit; BJP performs ‘Bhoomi Pujan’

Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security arrangements have been made across the city in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on December 24.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today reviewed the security arrangements. He informed that 30 platoons of forces will be deployed in the city for PM’s visit. Besides, 150 officers and two ACP rank officers. The security arrangement has been made in accordance with the guidelines contained in the PM’s ‘Blue Books’ issued by Home Ministry and Special Protection Group Act, Mohanty added.

On the other hand, the State BJP today conducted Bhoomi Pujan at Gosala in Khurdha ahead of the Modi’s visit. The PM is scheduled to address a public rally there.

Modi will arrive in Bhubaneswar on December 24 and drive straight to IIT campus where he is scheduled to inaugurate its new campus. Besides, he will also launch commemorative postage stamps on the occasion of 200th anniversary of Paika rebellion.

Modi will also lay foundation stone of some other projects in the State.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation of permanent campus of IESER in Berhampur.

Modi will also kick off the construction of Rs 3800 cr Paradip-Hyderabad gas pipe line project and Rs 3437 Bokaro-Angul pipeline. He will also lay foundation stone for modernisation of ESI hospital in Bhubaneswar with 50 more new beds.

Modi will also inaugurate Buddhist heritage museum in Lalitgiri of Jajpur. These apart, he will lay stone for construction of six-laning of NH 16 and four-laning of Cuttack-Angul NH which will cost Rs 2200 crore and Rs 2000 crore respectively.
