The act has generated strong reactions from both the public and authorities, as the use of live wild animals in performances is prohibited under wildlife protection laws. In response to the incident, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Cuttack instructed the local Range Officer of Bairi Forest Range to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Following the directive, forest officials raided the akhadasala, but found the site empty at the time of the operation. Subsequently, a notice was issued to the owner of Tulasi Gananatya, instructing him to appear before the Bairi Range Officer and present the live snake involved in the performance.

The use of wild animals like snakes in public performances violates the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, and those found in violation can face severe penalties under the law. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected.
