Construction of New Parliament Building targeted to be completed by Oct 2022

New Delhi, July 29: Under Central Vista Redevelopment/Development Master Plan, only two projects - construction of New Parliament Building and Redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue are being implemented, as on date, MoS Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore said in Lok Sabha today. The construction of New Parliament Building at an estimated cost of Rs 971 crore is being undertaken and targeted to be completed by October 2022. Redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue at an estimate of Rs 608 crore is being undertaken and targeted to be completed by November 2021, Kaushal Kishore said. Till date, the expenditure incurred on these two projects is Rs 238 crore for New Parliament Building and Rs 63 crore for redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue. Estimated cost to be incurred on these two projects for FY 2021-22 is Rs 1,289 crore. The estimated cost of demolition of existing structures has not been worked out separately.
