Bhubaneswar: Congress president Rahul Gandhi today came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for reportedly doing nothing for farmers and unemployed youths, and said Congress will waive off farm loans within ten days if voted to power in Odisha.
Addressing at the a huge rally christened as Parivartan Sankalap Samavesh at Tamando Mini Stadium, Rahul also promised paddy MSP of Rs 2,600 per quintal to farmers if voted to power.
“Odisha is not poor but its people are. I have not come here to make any false promises like BJP made to the people of the country. We will waive off farm loans within ten days if voted to power in Odisha and also promise paddy MSP of Rs 2,600 per quintal to farmers,” said Rahul. He also assured of setting up of food processing plants in each districts.
He asked the people to dethrone Modi and Patnaik in the next elections.
“Both Narendra Modi and Naveen Patnaik have done nothing for the country and the State, respectively. Only a few industrialists have been benefitted. Farmers and unemployed youths have become the worst suffers,” said Rahul.
Earlier in the day, Rahul interacted with intellectuals here and also met employees of HAL and BSNL.
