Bhubaneswar: The Opposition Congress today observed a three-hour State-wide agitation over rising rape incidents and cases of missing children in the State.
Coming down heavily on the State Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the party activists and supporters staged protests in front of all the district headquarters from 10 am to 1 pm across the State.
In Bhubaneswar, protestors led by Jatni MLA Suresh Routray protested in front of the Additional District Magistrate (ADM). The party also submitted memorandums to the Governor through the district Collectors and ADM.
Elaborate security arrangements were made across the State to maintain law and order. No untoward incidents were reported during the strike.
The protestors also burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
