Complete lockdown to be imposed in Kerala on July 31 and August 1

Thiruvananthapuram, July 29: The Kerala government has decided to impose complete lockdown in the state on July 31 and August 1 due to rising COVID19 cases. On the other hand, the Centre is sending a six-member team to Kerala headed by Director, National Centre for Disease Control. As a large number of COVID cases are still being reported in Kerala, the team will aid the state’s ongoing efforts in COVID management, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said. According to sources Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written Kerala government on "super spreader events" observed in the state recently. Health Secretary mentioned that COVID guidelines need to be followed properly, "Compliance with mass/social gatherings guidelines need to be enforced strictly.
