Bhubaneswar, June 20: Marking the first anniversary of the BJP-led government in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today said the state government is committed to transforming Odisha into the industrial hub of eastern India.

Majhi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and emphasized the Centre's role in accelerating the state’s development.

Highlighting the success of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 investors’ conclave held earlier this year, Majhi stated, “In January, Prime Minister Modi called upon investors to take part in the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 conclave. Within just two days, we received investment proposals worth ₹17 lakh crore—a record achievement driven by investor confidence in your leadership. We are committed to transforming Odisha into the industrial hub of eastern India.”

On the recently concluded Operation Sindoor, Majhi commended the Prime Minister for his decisive leadership, saying, “Under your guidance, a major terrorist threat was neutralized. Operation Sindoor was more than a military action—it symbolized the trust of our mothers and sisters. It marks India’s emergence as a nation that stands strong and unyielding. Where once people said, ‘Modi hai toh mumkin hai,’ now they say, ‘Modi hai toh desh surakshit hai.’”

Majhi further remarked on India’s developmental strides under Modi, noting that in the past 11 years, all sectors have witnessed growth, positioning the country as the world’s fourth-largest economy.

During his visit to Bhubaneswar, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹18,600 crore. These initiatives span crucial sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, agriculture, health, rural connectivity, national highways, and rail infrastructure.

The Prime Minister also unveiled the Odisha Vision Document, a strategic blueprint aligned with two major milestones: Odisha’s centenary as India’s first linguistic state in 2036, and India’s 100th year of independence in 2047. The state has set ambitious economic goals—aiming to become a $500 billion economy by 2036 and reach $1.5 trillion by 2047.
