Coal Ministry starts commercial auction for 14 mines of Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: Union Ministry of Coal has started commercial auction process for 14 mines of Odisha on Thursday. The mines include Machhakata coal mines, Mahanadi coal mines,Nuagaon Telisahi coal mines,Ramachandi Promotion, Alkananda,Bartap,Badapahad,Belpahar(Deep Extension),Chhatabar (Deep site),Kardabahal-Brahmanabil,Kosala West,Phuljhari East & West,Saradhapur North and Tentuloi. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi rolled on the formal auction in New Delhi in the presence of Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant and Union Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain. As many as 67 coal blocks across the nation has been picked up for rolling auction. The new mechanism would help the allottees in trading of coal and boost national exchequers, said Joshi.
