CM provides Rs 1,444 crore assistance to PMAY-G, BPGY beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday provided financial assistance of Rs 1,444 crores for the PMAY(Gramin) and BPGY beneficiaries. The funds will be utilized for the repair and maintenance of the houses build under these schemes. The CM attended the event through a video conference where he lent a total sum of Rs 1,444 crore to 32 lakh families and the sum was directly credited to the beneficiaries bank account. Notably, Naveen Patnaik had announced the package in the state cabinet meeting on December 21, 2021. “We had taken a decision in 2014 for converting all Kutcha houses into Pucca ones. Within these years, a total of 31 lakh pucca houses have been built and the efforts will continue till there is no Kutcha house left in the State,” said Naveen Patnaik while announcing the initiative. The program was coordinated by Secretary to CM VK Pandian and was attended by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Development Commissioner PK Jena, Panchayati Raj Department Secretary Ashok Meena and Special Project Director, Secretaries, senior officials, and Collectors.
