Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the Covid situation of the state and asked people to follow appropriate Covid behavior during the festive season.

The Chief Minister advised everyone to be more vigilant during the festival, citing the rise in infections after the Onam festival in Kerala.

In the review meeting the Chief Minister said that appropriate Covid behaviour is important for all during the festive season. Stating that the children have not been vaccinated yet, the CM said, ” we have to be more careful for them”.

The Chief Minister warned that the institutions would be held accountable if negligence was found in following Covid norms.

Naveen also directed officials to set up special teams for the visit of educational institutions. He also directed the administration to keep a close eye on markets, religious institutions, and health institutions.

The Chief Minister advised health workers, students, pregnant women, government employees, and the police to continue testing of this high-risk group on a regular basis.

Patnaik urged everyone to wear masks, wash their hands, and maintain social distance and not to go to the crowd, believing that appropriate Covid behavior during the festive season would be crucial to controlling the third wave.
