Bhubaneswar, Mar 22: The Odisha government continues to crack down on corrupt officials with the suspension of two government employee today.
In this regard, the state government took stern action against four officials, while two have been placed under suspension, pensions of two others have been stopped.
According to reports, Balaram Suna, a SEO of Khunta block in Mayurbhanj district and Basant Kumar Sahu, a statistical assistant officer of Athamallik block in Angul district of the Department of Women and Child Development, have been suspended.
Similarly, Damodar Das, ex-DGM Electrical of Bhubaneswar BED and retired police ASI A.I. Jagannath Rao’s pension and pension benefits have been permanently stopped.
The two officers were charged by the court with corruption.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has always insisted on zero tolerance against incompetent and corrupt officials. The state government has continued its efforts to provide services to the public through a transparent, efficient and accountable administration while maintaining integrity and morality in public life under its 5T initiative.
