Bhubaneswar, July 12: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is watching the world famous Rath Yatra on Television at his residence. The CM’s private secretary and 5T Secretary VK Pandian is also witnessing the holy festival along with the Chief Minister.
Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath held in Odisha’s Puri is one of the oldest Yatra that takes place across the country. This year, the annual ritual is being held today.
The deities of Jagannath Temple in Puri have been taken onto the chariots as they started their nine-day sojourn on the occasion of Rath Yatra on Monday.
Lord Jagannath with his siblings God Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra along with Sudarshan were seated in the well-adorned chariots in the morning after performing the temple-bound rituals.
Subsequently, the Sudarshan, the eternal weapon of Lord Jagannath, and the Trinity were brought in Dhadi Pahandi during the Pahandi Bije rituals.
