Puri, Nov 24: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Puri today for the inauguration of the Heritage Corridor Project (Parikrama Prakalpa) around the Jagannath Temple.
The Shila Bije held at 9.45 am and the Foundation stone will be laid between 10.15 am to 10.30 am. A three-day yajna started near the Jagannath Temple in Puri on Monday ahead of the scheduled ceremonial start of the Shree Mandira Parikrama Project.
Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb and other senior leaders are also present. CM also felicitated people from whom government had acquired land for the ambitious project
The road leading to Jagannath temple from hospital square has been barricaded from 6 am and all shops enroute remain closed. The local traders have been informed before about the decision to close shops for 7 hours.
For security purposes, three Additional SPs, 10 DSPs, 40 Inspectors led a force of 25 platoons.
