Mayurbhanj: Ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Mayurbhnaj and made four announcements for the district.
The Chief Minister while addressing a public rally at Chhau Padia announced setting up a Chhau Research Centre at Baripada and construction of a ring road around the Baripada town to protect it from floods.
He also announced that the State Government would write to the Central Government for restoration of licence of Baripada Urban Cooperative Bank.
Patnaik also said that initiatives would be taken by the State Government for taking over the Mayurbhanj Aurveda College.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated eleven projects and laid stones for six development projects.
The Chief Minister also distributed benefits of Rs 49 crore to women of Mission Shakti SHGs and seed money assistance of 15,000 each to 20,295 SHGs and Rs 25 lakh financial assistance to 26 block level federations. As many as 39,418 SHGs also get Rs 3,000 each for digital empowerment.
