Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday expressed his gratitude to outgoing Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania as he completed his tenure at the helm of the state police.

Khurania is scheduled to retire today.

In a post on X, Chief Minister Majhi thanked the senior IPS officer for his long and dedicated service to Odisha.

The Chief Minister praised Khurania's leadership in maintaining law and order, peace and harmony across the state.

He also acknowledged his contribution towards making the Odisha Police administration more efficient, empowered and people-centric.

“On the occasion of the completion of the tenure of Odisha Police DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for his long and dedicated service,” Majhi said in his post.

Wishing the outgoing DGP a healthy and prosperous retired life, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings for the next phase of his life.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch DG Vinaytosh Mishra, a 1993-batch IPS officer, is set to take charge as the in-charge DGP of Odisha Police today following Khurania's retirement.
