Bhubaneswar, July 22: In a decisive move underscoring the Odisha government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has dismissed Dr. Karunakar Rout from government service. Dr. Rout, a senior medical officer currently posted at the Mental Health and Cancer Department of Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, was previously associated with the Madhuban Group Health Center in Jajpur district.
The dismissal follows a corruption case filed by the Cuttack Vigilance Department, which led to departmental proceedings and his suspension from duty. After a thorough investigation, the Vigilance Court found Dr. Rout guilty, prompting strict disciplinary action including his removal from service.
Chief Minister Majhi has consistently reiterated his commitment to a corruption-free administration, emphasizing that no official involved in malpractice will be spared. Under his directive, the Anti-Corruption Department has intensified efforts across sectors, targeting both senior officers and staff suspected of corrupt activities.
The action against Dr. Rout is seen as part of a broader crackdown by the state government to ensure transparency and integrity in public service.
