Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday led the state in remembering Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister today visited Netaji’s birthplace in Janakinath Bhavan in Cuttack’s Odia Bazaar to pay homage to Netaji.
As part of Netaji’s 125th birth anniversary celebration, Naveen today laid the foundation stone of the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal at Khannagar.
Inaugurating the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the state government would hold a special year-long program for Netaji’s 125th birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister said, “ Netaji’s role in strengthening India’s struggle for independence was unparalleled. His patriotism and courage are glorious story in the history of India.”
The Chief Minister said that the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal would be built as a model bus terminal in the country. Steps will be taken to ensure that Netaji’s memory is awakened in the minds of all who come here.
A glimpse of Netaji’s life and struggle will be seen everywhere, and everyone who comes here will return with a message of Netaji’s courage and patriotism. The bus terminal will further enhance the prestige of the millennium city of Cuttack, the Chief Minister said.
The new bus terminal, which will be under the 5-T initiative, will have state-of-the-art facilities. It can accommodate 180 buses in an area of 11,000 square meters.
