CM launches industrial projects worth Rs 2,200 crore

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated various industrial units worth Rs 493.41 crore and performed groundbreaking of units worth Rs 1,702.89 crore. “These units will expand Odisha’s manufacturing capacity in food processing, aluminium downstream, steel, cement, automobile and pharma,” said Patnaik. Patnaik launched the projects though videoconferencing from the State Secretariat here. The key projects include 1.5 MTPA cement grinding unit of Emami Cement Limited, 4MTPA iron ore pelletisation plant of Narbheram power & Steel, Hindustan Coca Col Beverages’s expansion of non-alcoholic beverage plant and a new unit of Hindalco World Solar. The Government had received these project proposals during the last Make in Odisha conclave. These projects will create employment for 3500 people. The Chief Minister said the State Government has received more than 100 project proposals since Make In Odisha conclave. “This is testimony to the growing attractiveness of the State as an investment destination and the continued faith of the investor community in the business ecosystem offered by the State,” said Patnaik. Industries Minister Anant Das and MSME Minister Prafulla Samal were also present.
