Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Jatni and inaugurated 500 new drinking water projects for 95 urban local bodies under the Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Drinking Water to all habitations (BASUDHA) scheme.

The Chief Minister also opened another mega drinking water project for Khurda and Jatni Municipalities and IIT, NISER and Idco.

On Thursday, the CM had laid foundation stone for a mega drinking water project in Krushnaprasad block in Puri district to provide drinking water to 147 villages in Ganjam and Puri district. The project will come up with an estimated cost of Rs 183 crore.

On November 17, the Chief launched ‘BASUDHA’ Helpline-1916, a dedicated grievance management initiative for rural water supply at the State Secretariat. He also unveiled the logo of BASUDHA.

The helpline will receive complaints regarding drinking supply in rural areas between 6 am and 6 pm. The grievances will be addressed in a time-bound manner.

BASUDHA was launched in 2017-18 as a tribute to Buxi Jagabandhu in the bi-centenary year of Paika Rebellion.
