Bhubaneswar, June 1: Reinforcing the government’s commitment to responsive governance, the 18th edition of the Chief Minister’s Public Grievance Hearing began on Monday at the Unit-II Grievance Cell in Bhubaneswar, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi personally hearing complaints from citizens.
Several senior members of the state cabinet, including Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, along with ministers from key departments and senior bureaucrats, attended the hearing. Secretaries of various departments and the Bhubaneswar DCP were also present to facilitate immediate action on public grievances.
Only those citizens who had registered their complaints online on April 27 were allowed to participate in the hearing. Complainants submitted their grievance petitions directly to the Chief Minister and presented their issues for resolution.
The initiative, aimed at ensuring direct interaction between citizens and the administration, has emerged as an important platform for addressing public concerns and expediting solutions. Officials said the programme reflects the government's focus on accountability, transparency, and citizen-centric governance.
“While Delhi has Mann Ki Baat, Odisha believes in listening to Jan Ki Baat and delivering solutions,” officials remarked as the grievance redressal exercise commenced.
