Jharsuguda: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Jharsuguda and dedicated to the State the Rs 15,000 crore thermal power project of Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC) at Ib Valley in Banharpali.
With state-of-the-art tech and output of (660 x two units) 1,320 mega watt (MW), it’s the largest thermal power generation unit in Odisha and will supply electricity for next 25 years.
The generator has been awarded Manoharpur coal blocks.
The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone for the project in 2014. Adequate security arrangements were made under the direct supervision of SP for the smooth visit of the Chief Minister to the district. At least seven DSPs, two additional SPs, 100 officers along with 11 platoons of police personnel were deployed.
