New Delhi, Jan 20: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel has allegedly committed suicide in his barrack in Outer North Delhi’s Bhorgarh area by hanging himself from the ceiling, said an official on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen Kumar (51), a resident of Sonepat in Haryana. He joined CISF as Head Constable (Driver) and after promotion, he became the Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI).
According to sources, when the mess in-charge went to deliver the dinner to Praveen in the evening, found his room locked from inside. They called him several times but when Praveen didn’t open the door they decided to break open the door.
Later, the staff found his body hanging from the ceiling and informed the police.
Police arrived at the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The police said that they did not find any suicide note from the possession of the deceased, and so far no foul play has been suspected.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the extreme step of the victim, said a police official.
The deceased is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. His family was informed about the incident.
