Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Cricket Association secretary Ashirbad Behera, who was arrested by the CBI for his alleged links with the fraud Artha Tattwa chit fund firm this morning, said he had been not been summoned before his arrest.
“I know charge-sheets had been filed in the court in my name. But I was not summoned. You know why I have been arrested,” Behera told media reporters in a reaction.
Notably, Behera and a hotel owner were arrested by the CBI this morning.
Soon after Behera’s arrest, his son Sanjay alleged that CBI acted to a conspiracy hatched by his father’s opponents ahead of OCA polls for which nominations would be filed tomorrow.
Bereha had undergone a health check-up at the Capital Hospital and was in the CBI office by the time of filing of the story. He would be produced in the Special CBI Court, said officials.
