Cuttack, Mar 13: We can beat cervical cancer if it’s detected in the earlier stage, said Dr Cherian Varghese from Geneva, Switzerland.
While addressing a panel of doctors over a webinar on the eve of the World Cervical Cancer Eradication Day, he said that the human papilloma virus causes cervical cancer among women.
It can be prevented by a jab of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination. However, early detection and adequate care can reduce the degree of its fatality, he added.
Here, a panel of doctors led by Director of Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre Dr Lalatendu Sarangi and Professor Dr. Krupasindhu Panda discussed the various symptoms and treatments of cervical cancer.
