Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: The union government has approved an express train connecting Puri with Badampahar in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The Puri-Rairangpur-Badampahar Express will operate daily with nine LHB coaches. It will make stoppages at 19 stations including Rairangpur, Keonjhar, Sukinda and Bhubaneswar.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the Puri-Rairangpur-Badampahar Express, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the people of the state.

In a post on X, Majhi said this new rail service will strengthen connectivity across Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, bringing greater convenience and new opportunities for the people of the state.
