Bhubaneswar: In order to make an on-the-spot-study and assess damages caused by Cyclone Titli and heavy rains in Odisha, an eight-member Central team led by Union Home Minister Joint Secretary SK Shashi reached Bhubaneswar this morning.
According to information, the team would be divided into two sub-teams and the sub-teams would visit various parts of Titli-affected Ganjam and Gajapati districts today. The team members, who belong to different departments of the Union Government, would hold talks with the State Government officers tomorrow before leaving for Delhi. The team will submit its assessment report before the Union Government within seven days.
It may be noted that the State Government has assessed total damages at Rs 2,770 crore and sought Rs 2014 crore as assistance from the Centre.
