Balasore, May 15: A central team has conducted a detailed survey of key tourist spots in Balasore district to explore avenues for tourism development. The delegation visited Talsari, and Bichitrapur, along with Digha in West Bengal, to assess the potential of eco-tourism and other attractions in the region.
The officials indicated that the team would soon discuss a blueprint for the development of these destinations, providing green signals for upcoming projects. The delegation included central group members Nikita Sahi and Ram Prakash Narayan.
Talsari is considered among the state’s unique beachfronts, attracting large numbers of domestic and international tourists every day due to their natural beauty. Despite several efforts by former ministers and the late MLA Ananta Das, the development of these tourist spots had not achieved the desired success.
Under the new double-engine government, initiatives to enhance the infrastructure and facilities in these areas have finally begun. On May 6, Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi toured Talsari and Bichitrapur, and plans to take the proposals to Delhi for further discussion.
The central team’s survey has renewed hope among locals for the swift development of Balasore’s scenic and eco-tourism destinations.
