Center declares one-day national mourn on demise of UAE Prez

New Delhi, May 13: India declared one day national mourning on May 14 following the demise of the United Arab Emirates President, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday. The Union Home Ministry has issued directives to all states and union territories on Friday, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, the Government of India has decided that there will be one day’s state mourning on May 14 throughout the country. Taking to Twitter, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi also said, "India will observe 1 day national mourning on May 14, as a mark of respect for the departed soul of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His leadership and guidance, under which the India-UAE prospered, will be remembered forever", read the Tweet.
