Bhubaneswar: The Union Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Thursday approved construction of a third railway line of 155 km length between Narayangarh in West Bengal and Bhadrak in Odisha.
The projects will be completed by 2023-24 with an estimated cost of Rs 1,866.31 crore. It will help generate direct employment for about 37.2 lakh man days.
The capacity utilization on Narayangarh and Bhadrak section is 138 per cent. The proposed third line will reduce this congestion.
It will help generate additional optimum capacity to cope up with the existing as well as additional traffic.
