Bhubaneswar, January 21: The budget session of the Odisha legislative assembly will begin on February 14 and conclude on April 9. Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the annual budget for the 2020-2021 financial year on February 18.
The budget session will have 31 working days in two phases. There will be a break in between the two phases. The general discussion on the budget will be held in the first phase. The individual budgetary demand of grants relating to a few selected departments will be discussed and passed every day during the second phase. Finally, the appropriation bill for the coming financial year will receive the nod of the assembly after budgetary demand of grants of the departments not discussed will be passed by guillotine.
