Budget Session of Odisha Assembly adjourned 5 days ahead

Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: The Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly was today adjourned five days ahead. Speaker Dr Surjya Narayan Patro, adjourned the proceedings in the evening. The session was scheduled to be closed on April 9. During this session the annual budget for 2021-2022 was passed and Odisha Lokayukt Amendment bill and Odisha Advocate Welfare Fund (Amendment) bill received the nod of the House today. The House was adjourned amidst suspension of three BJP MLAs for hurling slippers at the Speaker. The Assembly Session met in two phases. The first phase had begun on February 18 with the customary inaugural address of Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and the Annual Budget for 2021-2022 was presented in the House by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on February 22. The second phase began on March 12 during which the Budget was passed.
